International Yoga Day
Maharishi Vidya Mandir celebrated International Yoga Day on June 21, 2025,
with enthusiastic participation by students and staff. In line with the global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the programme began at 7:00 a.m.
with students assembling on the school campus for a vibrant morning of
mindfulness and movement.
The event opened with a welcome address, followed by an inspiring speech from
Secretary Mr T.C. Perumal, who stressed the importance of yoga for a balanced
life. Principal Mrs V. Sundari also addressed the gathering, encouraging students to adopt yoga as a daily practice.
A professional yoga session was conducted by Mr Muthu Krishnan, the school’s
Physical Education Master, who guided students through various asanas and
breathing exercises. The secretary, Mr. T C Perumal demonstrated yoga poses
for the students. The Staff and dignitaries also participated, highlighting yoga’s role in enhancing focus, reducing stress, and promoting overall well-being.
The programme concluded with a short meditation and a vote of thanks, leaving
everyone refreshed and reminded of the value of holistic health in education.

















Observation of World Mental Health Day in MVM
Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Senior Secondary School, Chetpet observed, “World Mental Health Day”, on 10th October’24. This was with an objective to promote positive mental wellbeing and to create an awareness on the importance of issues around mental health of our day to days lives. In order to make the students understand this objective, the school organised various events for classes 6-12. A chart was presented portraying various emotions, a short story with a theme based on various emotions and ways to handle them were presented by the students. The other programmes included a debate on, ‘Impacts of Social Media’, dance, Pantomime and creating placards. An ‘Emotion Board’ was kept with various emotions represented by specific colours. Parents were invited to express how they felt at the moment by painting their fingers with the colour that resonated with their current emotion and then imprinting it on the chart. The interactive exercise achieved the aim of creating awareness about emotional well-being and fostering an open and supportive environment for discussing feelings.
