Observation of World Mental Health Day in MVM

Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Senior Secondary School, Chetpet observed, “World Mental Health Day”, on 10th October’24. This was with an objective to promote positive mental wellbeing and to create an awareness on the importance of issues around mental health of our day to days lives.  In order to make the students understand this objective, the school organised various events for classes 6-12. A chart was presented portraying various emotions, a short story with a theme based on various emotions and ways to handle them were presented by the students. The other programmes included a debate on, ‘Impacts of Social Media’, dance, Pantomime and creating placards. An ‘Emotion Board’ was kept with various emotions represented by specific colours. Parents were invited to express how they felt at the moment by painting their fingers with the colour that resonated with their current emotion and then imprinting it on the chart. The interactive exercise achieved the  aim of creating awareness about emotional well-being and fostering an open and supportive environment for discussing feelings.

Library Week – 2024

In Commemoration of Library week, 100 Students of Class IX visited Anna Centenary Library on 6th July – 2024 to know the importance of Reading. Reading competition was conducted for class X. Class XI students were made to read the chapters as reading marathon.

International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day was observed on 21st June, 2024 by our students in the school premises to promote the practice of yoga. The students were given awareness about the numerous benefits of yoga like promoting health and wellness, reducing stress and improving memory. The students enthusiastically participated and aptly demonstrated different Asanas.

World Environment Day

World Environment Day is a vital event for the global community, emphasizing the importance of protecting and preserving our planet. By raising awareness, fostering education, encouraging action, promoting global collaboration, and influencing policy. We conducted a pledge related to the same and we remind that it is our collective responsibility to safeguard the Earth for future generations.

MIRS VISIT BY STD X Students – Visiting different campuses offers valuable insights into the diverse academic, cultural, and social environments of various institutions. It allows prospective students to gauge facilities, interact with current students, and assess if the campus aligns with their preferences and aspirations. Such visits aid in making informed decisions about where to pursue education, fostering a deeper understanding of the available opportunities and resources.

Eco club Inauguration

Eco club Inauguration – making of logo activity – creating a logo for a club is important because it serves as a visual representation of the club’s identity and values. A well-designed logo can help establish a strong brand presence, attract members, and create a sense of unity and belonging among club members. A distinctive logo also aids in recognition, making it easier for people to associate the logo with the club’s activities and purpose.

Capacity Building Programme for Teachers

CoE of CBSE conducted two-day CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME FOR TEACHERS on 30th & 31st May 2023. On the topic “Integrity & Ethics in teaching profession” Ethics among teachers are vital as they shape the educational environment and influence students’ moral development. Teachers serve as role models, and their ethical behavior sets an example for students to follow. Upholding ethical standards ensures fairness, respect, and integrity in classrooms, fostering a positive and conducive learning atmosphere. Moreover, ethical teachers contribute to the cultivation of responsible citizens who make ethical choices in their personal and professional lives, ultimately benefiting society as a whole.

G-20 Marine Pollution Abatement

G-20Marine pollution abatement organized by TNPCB & NGC participated by Students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir senior secondary school , chetpet ,chennai . The G20’s focus on marine pollution abatement is crucial for safeguarding the health of our oceans and marine ecosystems. Given the increasing threats posed by plastic waste, oil spills, and other pollutants, collaborative efforts among major economies through the G20 can lead to more effective policies and strategies to mitigate these challenges. By addressing marine pollution, the G20 helps protect biodiversity, marine life, and the livelihoods of communities that depend on healthy oceans, while also contributing to the overall sustainability of our planet.
